The general recommendation that you have been made to avoid international contacts and trips and to stay at home remains more relevant than ever: this is how we can together help to stop the spread of the virus, as well as by continuing to implement barrier gestures. The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs hoped that a local plan for medical and health, educational and social support linked to the CoVid-19 crisis would be put in place for your benefit in Bangladesh. In this context, particular attention will be paid to our most vulnerable compatriots. The practical details of implementing this plan will be communicated to you very quickly. It will be supplemented by a reinforced system of scholarships and social assistance to support those of you who face particularly difficult personal situations, as well as an emergency plan for the entire network of French teaching abroad. So that we can continue to ensure the best link with the French community, if you know people around you who are not registered in the French Register established outside of France, encourage them to register so that we can stay in touch with the maximum of you. The embassy remains naturally available to respond to emergency situations that you may encounter both in health and social terms.
April 12, 2020, local authorities announced:
- the extension of the suspension of the issuance of visas on arrival in Bangladesh
- that people from any country affected by the Coronavirus will be quarantined for two weeks (from the day of arrival).
